Hi, Im a single mom of 1 – planning on moving to georgia, because I have my brother over there. I will be living- renting a room with him temporarily. Do you know if assistance programs take his income in consideration?

Thank you in advance.

Barbara, If you just tell them that you are renting from your brother and not occupying common space with your brother than it should be ok. There are just certain ways to do certain things. Have him write up an agreement between the two of you and have something that shows proof of the amount of agreed payment (i.e. check, money order receipt, or some form of receipt of payment from him). I’ve been here almost 8 years and just starting to find what works. I hope this helps.
