To make sure that your children are healthy, the state of Florida provides Medicaid to single mothers who have low income. Those who don’t have any access to healthcare services also benefit from this program. Of course, these mothers have to prove that they are eligible for these programs. The program requires that you show a copy of your paystub and state how many individuals are part of the family unit.

Providing healthy and balanced meals for your children is not easy for single mothers. Therefore, the state of Florida provides food stamps under the TANF program for those who are financially disabled. The program especially looks out for small children as well as pregnant and nursing mothers.

Transportation for single mothers is offered by the Florida Department of Transportation. Affordable transportation for those who are financially disadvantaged is part of the grant program.

There are rental assistance grant programs for those who qualify. If you are homeless because of financial reasons, you will benefit from this program. This is an emergency and temporary grant assistance program until you find a place to live. However, it is only available to single mothers. Another program, which is quite similar is the Section 8 housing program offered by HUD. However, the HUD program helps you to pay your monthly rent.

If you are a single mother who wants to go back to school to improve your education, the Office of Student Financial Assistance offers government grants and aids if you qualify.
