3. Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Awards program
One of the best scholarships for single mothers which awards $10,000 to women who need assistance with higher education costs. Unlike other scholarships, the money can be used for books, child care, transportation or any other expense that will help you reach your educational goal. Applications are only accepted between July 1st and Dec. 1st and must be submitted through your local area.
4. Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund
The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship offers an unnamed amount to one undergraduate single parent who must be an Arkansas resident.
5. Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation for Low-Income Women and Children
In 2010, the Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation will offer five women of up to $2000 each. This award to only for low-income women with children who are pursuing education or training.
